In your excitement to buy a home, it’s easy to miss a small crack in the foundation, some leaky pipes under the house or a roof that needs to be replaced.
The sellers worked hard to make the home look as desirable as possible, but looks don’t tell the whole story! That’s where your home inspection comes in.
Your home purchase is one of the biggest investments of your life, and it’s important to know exactly what you’re buying. The best way to ensure this is through a professional home inspection.
As a home Buyer, one of the first things to arrange after the offer has been accepted and the Agreement of Sale (AOS) has been fully signed by you and the Seller, is a Home Inspection(s). This may include Property Inspection, Termite Inspection, Radon Inspection...any inspection contigencies that were selected as part of the AOS. There is a short time period to have these inspections completed and returned to the Seller...so this must be considered a priority.
When scheduling a Home Inspection, find out their experience, rates and get references. Ask them what type of inspection reports they provide and ask for a sample. Please provide my name and number to the inspection company, should they have questions about the transaction and/or need Listing/Selling side information.
